I got folliculitis after laser hair removal. Is something wrong?
Some people are concerned about developing folliculitis after laser hair removal. Folliculitis is one of the skin's natural inflammatory reactions that can occur temporarily. This can be caused by the heat delivered to the skin during the procedure and individual immune responses. Self-hair removal methods like shaving or waxing can directly irritate hair follicles or damage the skin barrier, increasing the likelihood of folliculitis. In contrast, laser hair removal uses thermal energy in a hygienic manner, and in the long term, can reduce hair growth, thereby decreasing irritation itself. When folliculitis occurs, proper soothing care or, if necessary, the use of antibiotic ointment, along with post-procedure care as directed by medical staff, is important. We can check your skin condition before and after the procedure and provide advice for preventing folliculitis.

Mild redness, warmth, or discomfort may occur in the treated area, which usually subsides within 2-3 hours.
